Members’ own accounts

A membership portal for profiles, registrations and tickets

Give your members a place to keep their details up to date and find event tickets. Their Open Communities account brings these tasks together. More self-service tools depend on your community’s setup.

Keep personal details and contact consent current

Members can edit their profile, including their name, location and alternate email. They can also check their consent to be contacted by email and mobile.

When members change their email or mobile details, they need to verify them. How they sign in and use a password depends on how their account was first set up.

A member’s own account is separate from the access your committee has. It does not let them change someone else’s details or manage your community.

Find registrations and open event tickets

Members can sign in to find their own event registrations. This view shows the event, who is attending, the sign-up date and relevant payment status. They can also open ticket details where tickets are available.

Members can cancel where the rules for that registration allow it. Cancelling does not, on its own, mean they will get a refund.

They may also have a way to pay or view bank details. These options depend on the payment method and the registration’s status. See payment handling and refund conditions for more detail.

Explore the complete event journey

From public registration to account follow-up

For example, someone finds an event on your community website and signs up. Once that registration is linked to their account, they can return to its details. They can then check those details and open any available ticket.

Signing up for a public event does not, by itself, create a member account. To find that registration in their account, it must be linked to them.

Your organisers manage check-in and attendance. The events page explains registration, tickets and QR check-in.

More self-service when setup and access allow

Other tasks depend on your community’s setup, the member’s records and what they have permission to do.

Manage recurring project support

Members can manage their own recurring project contribution where this has been configured. They can set it up, confirm it, cancel it or decline it. These are choices they can make, not steps they must all complete.

This is ongoing support for a project, not a way to renew membership. See project funding and contribution options for more detail.

Submit claims and keep reimbursement details

Members with the right permission can submit and track expense claims and receipts. Their payment profile holds the details needed to pay them back.

This profile is for reimbursement, not a membership subscription or wallet. Your committee handles claim review and reimbursement administration. See payment and expense records for the full explanation.
