About Open Communities

Open Communities is an Australian software platform for community organisations. It links the public website people visit with the tasks your committee manages behind it.

Learn why we bring these tasks together, or ask how the platform could meet your needs.

A website with committee tasks behind it

Your group needs to share news, plan events and keep people informed. Your committee also needs to keep member and group details together. Those with access need tools for the tasks they manage.

Open Communities brings these needs into one platform. You can publish web pages, run events, take registrations and send messages. You can also keep member and group details in the same place.

For example, people can find an event on your website and sign up. Organisers with access can then review those registrations.

Each group has its own community area on the shared platform. It has its own name and look, website content and admin tasks.

Keep information with your organisation

Committee members change, but your group’s events and other tasks go on. Keeping details together can help a new committee pick up where the last one left off. It need not rely solely on files held by one volunteer.

This is a practical aim of Open Communities: to keep your group’s details in one place. The people who manage them can have access to the tasks they need.

Could it fit your organisation?

Open Communities is designed for associations, clubs, cultural and religious groups, alumni groups and volunteer-led committees.
